Hello, my name is Megan Peters, and I am very excited to work with your student at North Ward Elementary this coming year.
I am from the Atwood-Hammond Area, and my family has farmed the same ground for about 150 years. I graduated in December 2009 with my bachelors in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and spent the spring and summer working for Unity East Elementary School in Philo. Then, after having found my love for teaching, I decided to return to school to acquire my special education certificate. In May of 2012, I completed the teacher certification program at Eastern Illinois University. For the past two years I have taught at Stratton Elementary School in the Champaign School district.
Although, I am not new to the area, I have had a busy summer. My husband and I bought a house in the spring and along with finishing all the unpacking, I have also been enjoying my 9 month old who is learning how to crawl. I am a very positive person who always looks for the beauty in places and the people around me.
I am very excited to be back in a smaller district and I am looking forward to being involved in the community. Again, I am pleased to be given the opportunity to support your child. If at any time you have questions, please feel free to contact me through email or by phone. I am really looking forward to getting to know your student and cannot wait to assist in their academic and social growth.
