Welcome back to North Ward Elementary! I am so excited to start a new year with your student and I am looking forward to getting to know him/her. Here are a few things I would like to draw your attention to:
Book bag/Folders- I have a daily take home folder to help us stay connected. I will have your weekly parent communication log, lunch menu, and any other notes or messages I need to pass along to you in there. Please feel free to put notes and permission slip forms in there for me as well. Please check your student’s book bag nightly and remove any papers or art projects that we have sent home.
Lunch- All the menus can be found online from the northward site or at Tuscola.schooldish.com. You always have the option to send a sack lunch and/or an additional snack that they can have as well.
Snack- We will have a daily snack time in the afternoons. If you have paid for school milk, they will enjoy it then, otherwise we will have water. You are welcome to send classroom or individual snacks for your student. If you want to donate a classroom snack we would love to have- goldfish, crackers, pretzels, granola bars, or fruit. I would also love to have special snacks for their birthdays or holidays!
Class website- Please check it weekly! I will put up lots of pictures and information about what we are doing in our room. I will also post a sign up for special snacks. http://petersme.weebly.com
Absences/Transportation Changes- Please call the office and let the secretary know if your student is sick and will not be at school. Also, if your student is going home a different way than usual, please contact the school by phone or by sending in a note. You may also email me any changes before noon.
Birthdays- I love celebrating your student’s special day at school! Feel free to send in a special treat!
Northward Library- We will be visiting the school library every week. Your student will bring home the library book they have selected, please keep it for the week and then send it back to school so you do not get charged for a lost book.
Communication between home and school is so important for making this year a success for your student! If you have any concerns or suggestions, please call the school and request me (217)253-2712 or send me an email email@example.com
This year will be a wonderful year! I am so excited to see how your student is going to grow and learn!
